Michelin starred food isn’t something you’d usually expect to find at a London market, let’s be real.
While the quality of street food is excellent in London, no-one is expecting it to be top notch, fancy quality – until now.
The world’s first Michelin starred street food hawker is coming to London for three days only, and you can get his signature dish of soya sauce chicken and rice for just £6.
Chef Chan Hon Meng is from Singapore and will be flying over to serve up delicious food at Kerb Kings Cross, between 14 – 16 March.
You’ll have to be quick, as he’s only making 200 of the dish per day.
Based in Singapore – the land of the original street food hawkers – Chef Chan became the first street food trader in 2016 to achieve a Michelin star.
Growing up on a farm and helping his parents with the cooking he left school at 15 to follow his dream of becoming a chef.
‘My dream is to see more Singaporean cuisine and more of the undiscovered local hawker talent enjoyed on an international stage,’ he says.
‘Whether you’re a restaurant chef or a street market hawker – with food you can never stop learning.’
