Trump attacks ‘slime ball’ Comey for ‘lying’ in book

Donald Trump has yet again branded James Comey a "slime ball" – hours before an interview with the former FBI director is broadcast.

The President also called him the "WORST FBI Director in history, by far" and claimed he "hardly even knew this guy" in a series of five tweets over an hour on Sunday.

Mr Comey, who was fired by Mr Trump last year, has talked about his interactions with the President in an extended interview with ABC News.

In one excerpt, Mr Comey said he did not remember "consciously thinking" about the election results as he decided to disclose that the FBI had reopened its investigation into Hillary Clinton's email use.

He said: "I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump, and so I'm sure that it was a factor.

"I don't remember spelling it out, but it had to have been, that she's going to be elected president and if I hide this from the American people, she'll be illegitimate the moment she's elected, the moment this comes out."

Mrs Clinton blames his decision to reopen the email probe 11 days before the 2016 election for her surprise defeat.

Mr Comey's new memoir, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership, compares Mr Trump to a dishonest, ego-driven mob boss.

After the interview excerpts were released, the president branded his former FBI chief an "untruthful slime ball" and said he "stupidly" handled the probe into Mrs Clinton.

:: Shocked FBI boss James Comey thought his firing was a prank

Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe. In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going to win, and he wanted a job. Slimeball!

In his latest tweets, Mr Trump said Mr Comey "is not smart" and that he never asked him for "Personal Loyalty", claiming that was "another of his many lies".

On his memoirs, Mr Trump said they are "self serving and FAKE".

The big questions in Comeys badly reviewed book arent answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didnt they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabes $700,000 & more?

Comey throws AG Lynch “under the bus!” Why cant we all find out what happened on the tarmac in the back of the plane with Wild Bill and Lynch? Was she promised a Supreme Court seat, or AG, in order to lay off Hillary. No golf and grandkids talk (give us all a break)!

The President also gave a mini review of his own, saying the big questions Mr Comey poses are not answered.

"How come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn't they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe's $700,000 & more?" he said.

The President has been highly critical, and public with his criticism, of Mr Comey since firing him in May last year over his handling of the FBI investigation into Mrs Clinton's emails and the inquiry into Russian interference in the election.

Mr Comey, who was appointed by Barack Obama in 2013, has kept quiet about his time under Mr Trump for nearly a year, with the interview and book finally breaking his silence.

He is the second ever FBI director to be fired.

I never asked Comey for Personal Loyalty. I hardly even knew this guy. Just another of his many lies. His “memos” are self serving and FAKE!

Slippery James Comey, a man who always ends up badly and out of whack (he is not smart!), will go down as the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!

In his book, Mr Comey also describes the president as "unethical, and untethered to truth and institutional values".

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said: "The American people see right through the blatant lies of a self-admitted leaker.

"This is nothing more than a poorly executed PR stunt by Comey to desperately rehabilitate his tattered reputation and enrich his own bank account by peddling a book that belongs in the bargain bin of the fiction section."
