Graeme Souness will return to working for Sky Sports after storming off the set during coverage of the final day of the Premier League.
It was thought a questionable comment about Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah had sparked Sounsess exit.
Souness was suddenly missing after a commercial break as Gary Neville and Thierry Henry took over in the studio.
Before his disappearance, Souness had been telling viewers about a conversation he had with Kelly Cates, the daughter of Kenny Dalglish.
He said: I was working with Kelly and I said to her “Hes like your dad with a sun tan”.
The comment drew criticism from fans on social media, but the Sun claim it is not the reason Souness stormed off the set.
Souness left after he was enraged by Sky bosses asking him to speed up his commentary.
The Scotsman has worked with Sky Sports since ending his managerial career and is a regular across their football coverage.
Souness returned to the set to apologise for losing his temper and the matter is considered resolved.
