Margot Bowman: the graphic designer illustrating points of principle

Commissioned by everyone from high-street brands to fashion mags while still at Central Saint Martins, Margot Bowman is using her high profile to take on Brexit and spearhead the ethical fashion movement

A lady of labyrinthine talent, Margot Bowman was a one-woman creative brand before she’d even left art school. An early pep talk from illustrator Kate Moross prompted the graphic design student to get her unique artwork out there early. “She said: ‘Margot, people empathise with your drawings, it excites them and they really like it, you need to be brave enough to go for it,’” Bowman told Dazed. So by her final year of study at Central Saint Martins, she had already created in-store artwork for Urban Outfitters, live illustrated London fashion week for Topshop and been commissioned by multiple magazines.
