Manchester City will take on Wolves or Watford in the FA Cup final after beating Brighton 1-0 in the semi-finals at Wembley.

Gabriel Jesus converted Kevin De Bruynes sublime cross after just four minutes when he ducked down to head past a helpless Mat Ryan.

City controlled the first half but could have been reduced to 10-men when Kyle Walker appeared to headbutt Alireza Jahanbakhsh. The full-back was given a yellow and the officials saw no reason to upgrade it to a red after a review.

Pep Guardiolas men failed to increase their lead before the break, which invited Brighton out to find an equaliser after the interval. Inevitably, though, that left gaps and Raheem Sterling came close to exploiting the newfound space when he cannoned an effort against the post midway through the second half.

The Seagulls threw more and more men forward but failed to lay a glove on City, coming closest when substitute Jose Izquierdo tested Ederson with a curling effort from 20 yards.
