Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), one of three Democratic presidential contenders still in the race, will “assess his campaign” after losing the three states that voted on Tuesday night.
“The next primary contest is three weeks away,” Sanderss campaign manager Faiz Shakir said in a statement. “Sen. Sanders is going to be having conversations with his supporters to assess his campaign.”
“In the immediate term, however, he is focused on the government response to the coronavirus outbreak and ensuring that we take care of working people and the most vulnerable,” Shakir added.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, 77, notched decisive victories in the Democratic primaries in Florida and Illinois.
The only other contender left, 38-year-old Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii), earned zero delegates on Tuesday.
