EBN- The wife of the international artist Bruce Willis decided to reveal to her children the truth about their father’s health condition, so that they are able to accept the fact that he has not improved, noting that she does not accept anything unless they know the truth so that they can at the same time obtain the correct culture to be able to deal with his illness correctly.
Bruce Willis’ wife opens up to her children about his condition
Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma Heming, confirmed that his battle against Dementia and Alzheimer’s not easy, but she’s determined to be open with her young children about the challenges their father faces, and not to shield them from harsh realities.
Mrs. Bruce told the Mirror that getting the right diagnosis is so important because it is often misdiagnosed at first, so she wants to educate her children about it. She has spoken to her children Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10, about the issue without trying to sugarcoat anything.
Mrs. Bruce said she had assured her children that their father would not get better, but promised that it would not destroy the family, especially since there was no cure for his dementia.
She added that she learned that if children ask questions, they are ready to know the answer, describing Bruce Willis’ disease as fatal and chronic, and there is no cure for it, stressing that she will not allow it to bring down her entire family.
Mrs. Bruce revealed that it started with Bruce Willis stuttering during childhood, and he got help, but he continued to stutter, but he learned how to hide it.
She noted that he had started speaking differently again, and she did not realize at the time that this would be an early sign that he was suffering from a serious health condition, saying: “When he started speaking in a strange language, I thought it was just part of the stuttering, and I did not imagine that it was a form of dementia for someone who was still so young.”
