EBN- An apple a day keeps the doctor away, or so we are used to hearing, but according to a new medical study, eating fewer apples—at a rate of four apples a week—may be enough to improve your health and reduce the risk of premature death.

A study published in the journal Frontiers in Nutrition, according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, revealed interesting results about the benefits of eating apples and bananas.
Researchers from Yangtze Hospital in Jinzhou, China, conducted their study by following 2,184 middle-aged men and women with high blood cholesterol over a period of ten years.
People who ate three to four apples a week were 39% less likely to die from any cause than those who rarely ate apples.
The same study confirmed that bananas were no less important, as consuming them regularly reduced the risk of premature death by 30%. When eating bananas three to four times a week, the risk of premature death was reduced by almost half.
