Bill Cobbs was born on June 16, 1934 in the United States of America, specifically in Cleveland. He served in the United States Air Force as a radar technician for 8 years, after which he worked in office products at IBM, and also worked in selling cars in Cleveland.
Cobbs began his artistic career when he left from Cleveland to New York in 1970, to search for acting, and in 1974 he actually began to achieve his dream of acting and fame.

The late Bill Cobbs was best known for his role as Bill Devaney, Whitney Houston’s manager in the 1992 film “The Bodyguard,” which starred opposite her as Kevin Costner. He
was also known for his role as security guard “Reggie” in the 2006 comedy “Night at the Museum,” opposite Ben Stiller, Robin Williams, and Owen Wilson.
He was also known for his role as Medgar Evers’ older brother in the 1996 film “Ghosts of Mississippi,” the jazz pianist in the 1996 film “That Thing You Do,” and as a coach in the 1997 film “Air Bud.”
The star also appeared in many TV series, most notably “The Slap Maxwell Story,” “The Sopranos,” “Sesame Street,” “I’ll Fly Away,” “The Gregory Hines Show,” “The Drew Carey Show,” and “Star Trek: Enterprise.”
He appeared in more than 200 films and TV series, and although his roles were relatively brief, they were always pivotal.
