LOS ANGELES – The plot of the romantic comedy series Run – about two old flames making good on a 17-year-old pact to run away together – was inspired by a private joke between British writers Vicky Jones and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who collaborated on the hit stage play and series Fleabag.
Jones directed Waller-Bridge's one-woman show, Fleabag (2013), which became the basis of the much-lauded series (2016 and 2019 ) of the same name – a tragicomedy about a young woman in London navigating the complexities of love, sex and family.
