EBN- ABC News reported, citing data from AccuWeather, that the forest fires in Los Angeles caused damages ranging between $52 and $57 billion.
Major fires continue to burn in California. The most destructive of these fires is the Palisades Fire, which has destroyed nearly 1,000 structures and spread over 2,000 acres. The fire has not yet been brought under control.
The Federal Aviation Administration has expanded the flight ban over the fire zones. Flying is also prohibited below 7,000 feet (about 2,100 meters) to ensure the safety of aircraft involved in fighting the fire.
Los Angeles County has issued mandatory evacuation orders for tens of thousands of residents. The county’s fire chief acknowledged that resources are geared toward dealing with one or two major fires, not four at once.
The fires were described as some of the most destructive in Los Angeles County history.
