EBN – A 14-year-old student got detained after a knife attack that wounded three teachers and two other students. The horrible event took place in a high school in the southern Spanish town of Jérez de la Frontera.
The incident occurred at 8:25 AM, as the police received an emergency call. Indeed, the signal stated that an armed individual is attacking people in the school building.
Incident Details
According to an eyewitness, the young pupil entered a classroom looking “angry” and took a seat at the back.
However, he then retrieved “knives” from his backpack, brandishing them angrily as he launched his attack.
The student had two knives, which he utilised to attack teachers and other students. Furthermore, the attack resulted in several injured individuals, according to the national police.
Additionally, one of the teachers is critically injured, as she suffers from a severe eye wound.
Another student sustained small injuries from the attack. He has since been discharged from the hospital where he received medical help.
Eyewitnesses Describe Horrifying Attack
The attacker proceeded towards one of his classmates, holding two kitchen knives, and angrily screamed, “I’m going to kill you.”
The class erupted in chaos, with students fleeing the scene immediately. The biology teacher bravely intervened, asking the attacking student to stop what he was doing and cease violence. Tragically, however, the boy allegedly attacked her eye.
The attacker then ran and went to another classroom, where he was confined by a heroic teacher and other students.
In interviews conducted by the EFE news agency, fellow students have described the attacker as “not a problematic person but always alone.” They also suggested he may have experienced emotional challenges.
Some eyewitnesses believe that the attacker may have been bullied, as classmates allegedly ridiculed the young student. Moreover, some students threw water on him in the playground.
While all students have been safely evacuated from the school, authorities continue their investigations into this deeply troubling incident.
