Italy’s police were investigating on Sunday a Somali migrant for attempted murder after he allegedly slashed two bus ticket agents.

Moreover, the man wounded three others, including a boy, as he escaped from the beach resort in Rimini.

According to Italy’s state broadcaster (RAI), police excluded terrorism, as the 26-year-old male was under drugs during the Saturday attack.

Luciana Lamorgese, the Minister of Interior, said she will meet with local police officials on Monday in Rimini to review the incident.

Lamorgese has been under attack by right-wing leader Matteo Salvini, who heads the anti-migrant League party.

The right-wing leader heading the anti-migrant League party, Matteo Salvini, has attacked Lamorgese for not pressuring illegal migration enough.

The man slashed the bus ticket agents after they had asked him for it. The two women were severely wounded, news report.

Additionally, he slashed three more people as he fled the scene after the bus driver opened the door.

Furthermore, the three wounded people included a six-year-old boy who was sitting with his mother in a local market outdoors.

The boy was in critical condition on Sunday after surgery for his neck wounds.

After a chase, the police arrested the man in an alley next to a hotel.

Corriere Della Sera newspaper said the unidentified man had been denied asylum in several European countries since arriving in 2015.

The European countries include Denmark, Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.

RAI said the man had applied for asylum in Italy and was living in a Catholic charity-run migrant center in Rimini.
