California, Europe Brief News – Hollywood presented the tribute to Ukraine at the 2022 Oscar ceremony held on Sunday. The celebrities present at the big night shared the special night with the people of Ukraine. A text on a screen appeared that requested the world for financial contributions.
A few celebrities at the ceremony also made brief comments about the ongoing war. The Oscars telecast distinctly showed silent messages in Ukraine. No one mentioned Russia which invaded Ukraine 31 days ago.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for e war and a military operation is underway in Ukraine. Moscow is aimed at demilitarizing its neighbor. Ukraine has called this an invasion of the country.
Before the show, it was planned that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will make an appearance through a video link. He has been doing parliaments around the world. The President is urging the West to give Ukraine tanks, planes and missiles to aid fight the army sent by the Russians.
A few references were made to Ukraine but none was made to Russia. The Russian President did not appear in a video message and it seems like the plan did not work out.
Many actors at the ceremony also supported Ukraine at the 2022 Oscar ceremony. “Viva Ukraine!” said director Francis Ford Coppola when he was hosting a segment for the 50th anniversary of “The Godfather.”
Co-host Amy Schumer also shared his views about the war and said, “And there’s a genocide going on in Ukraine and women are losing all of their rights.”
Popular actor Jason Momoa wore a handkerchief that was designed in blue and yellow. These colors are the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
There was also an indirect reference made to Russia by the filmmaker Ben Proudfoot. He received the Oscar for best short subject documentary, which called out for the release of the Women’s National Basketball Association player Brittney Griner. She has been detained in a Russian prison for a long time.
