London, Europe Brief News- UK Conservative Party MP Andrew Bridgen suggested in a tweet that vaccine program is ‘biggest crime against humanity since the holocaust.”
Shortly after the publication, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak suspended MP Andrew Bridgen over his “utterly unacceptable” comments.
Bridgen shared a link and chart on Twitter on Wednesday, purporting to show evidence of heart problems related to vaccines, and added the comment: “As one consultant cardiologist said to me this is the biggest crime against humanity since the holocaust.”
Confirming Bridgen’s suspension on Wednesday, Conservative chief whip Simon Hart said the 58-year-old had “crossed a line” and caused “great offence”.
“As a nation, we should be very proud of what has been achieved through the vaccine programme,” Hart said. “The vaccine is the best defence against COVID that we have.”
“Misinformation about the vaccine causes harm and costs lives. I am, therefore, removing the whip from Andrew Bridgen with immediate effect, pending a formal investigation,” Hart said.
Bridgen has long claimed that COVID vaccines are dangerous and backed misinformation theories related to the coronavirus pandemic.
He is already under a five-day suspension for implying that a woman investigating him for alleged breach of lobbying rules was being influenced against him with the offer of a peerage.
