EBN- Celine Dion proved herself the “Queen of Comebacks” last week when her triumphant return to the public at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was a remarkable success,.
She stood steadfast in front of the crowd, singing with her sweet voice and her usual presence, as if the disease had not passed her by, and had not taken away from her brilliance at all.
Behind the scenes of this strength and brilliance were supporters of “Dion”, and the most prominent of these supporters was her family, who made sure to be by her side at such moments.
Last week, Canadian singer Celine Dion , 56, traveled to the French capital to perform a moving version of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne A L’amour” atop the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
While she said goodbye to the City of Lights, it was clear from the photos she recently posted on her personal Instagram account documenting her trip to Paris that she wasn’t alone.
Her long-standing support: Her oldest son
Alongside her was her eldest son, René-Charles Angélil, who has not been seen with her much, or in other words, keeps his personal life out of the spotlight, although he is following in his mother’s footsteps with his love of music.
Photos posted by Celine during her stay in Paris show René Charles close by, and a series of photos posted by the singer herself on Instagram show him smiling with her as they tour the city and interact with fans.
The 23-year-old has been in the spotlight more than ever over the past year, supporting his mother in her battle with stiff person syndrome. After Celine took a break from the stage and performances to begin her treatment journey, she relied entirely on her three children, most notably René-Charles.
The eldest of her three sons, with her late husband René Angélil, also appeared alongside his mother at the Grammy Awards in February, when she began her dramatic return to the spotlight. He has been with her at several high-profile events since then.
