California. Europe Brief News – Facebook after turning itself to Meta has been making so many efforts to focus on their new venture known as Metaverse. Metaverse is widely known for its Social media VR platform for the quest headset also called Horizon Worlds.
This technology was launched in December and was only available in the US and Canada. In just three months, The platform has achieved phenomenal success and gained 300k users in almost no time.
META VR Platform: Horizon Worlds
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook’s parent company Meta said that the members who are using VR platform are Metamates and Horizon world is a critical part of their Metaverse Vision.
Before rolling out in December to the users, Horizon world was only available in the beta version for testing purposes. Horizon world enable users to create a virtual reality to play games as avatars.
Horizon world in a tweet said “It’s time. 10,000 worlds have already been created. Drop in and play, build or just hang out.The possibilities are endless”.
It’s still quite early to measure the success of horizon world as it only came into existence just months ago and the company has not even shared how many quest headsets they have sold yet.
But most experts believe that the sales of headset can easily be around 10 million for Quest.
Since we are aware of the fact that the company has been spending so much money to make Metaverse successful and considered it as a future. Alongside putting efforts and money, the company is making some significant real time changes to provide a better experience.
It recently announced that it added a new feature of “Personal Boundary” which limits avatars from virtually entering and disturbing someone’s personal space in Virtual reality.
They include this special feature in the Horizon world after the company received so many users complaining about Virtual harassment from other Avatars.
This feature will not only make it more reliable but also create a better space for people to interact and prevent unwanted interactions.
During Meta’s last earnings call , Mark Zuckerberg said “ Later this year, we will launch a mobile version of Horizon world which will help bring this immersive experience beyond VR ”.
Even though Horizon world is yet to make money for Meta, the company seems to be more concerned about its success than money.
