London, Europe Brief News – The UK Health Security has upgraded its Greenbook to make people aware about the latest guidelines on vaccines and vaccination procedures.
The UK Government has made an announcement that the Covid booster Jabs can now be available sooner than six months after the second dose to the country’s most vulnerable groups.
In the light of updated guidelines, Care home residents will be able to get their booster jab who may have received their second dose at different time frame. But there must be a five month gap for their last dose.
The new rules are also expected to aid other vulnerable groups including housebound patients to provide them flu and covid vaccines at the same time.
Sajid Javid , Uk Health Secretary said “ We are making great progress with the booster rollout and I want to thank everyone working so hard to get jabs in arms”.
He further added “ This updated guidance will ensure healthcare professionals have the necessary flexibility in the booster program, allowing more vulnerable people to be vaccinated where it makes operational sense to do so including our loved ones in care homes”.
Under the new Clinical guidelines, the authorities will speed up their operations to reach out to maximum vulnerable people aged 50 plus to give them required booster jabs to ensure they are well protected in the winter months.
The move comes as the National Health Services (NHS) declared a “booster blitz” on Saturday.
1.6 Millions To Get the Second Booster Jab
The booster blitz will facilitate almost 1.6 million candidates who are 50 plus and were selected for Covid’19 second booster shots. The authorities will invite those people for their top-up Jabs next week.
Dr Nikki Kanani, Deputy Lead of the NHS Vaccination program said “ Thanks to the efforts of the NHS staff millions of people have received their booster shots already and over six weeks in, with over half of eligible over 50s already protected”.
She further added that the vaccine is plain and effective and will help citizens to protect themselves from the deadly virus at all times.
NHS issued the guidelines that whoever falls under the booster shot criteria and is 190 days on from their second dose can simply go online and place the booking.
On Saturday, the daily recorded Covid’19 infections across the UK stood at 43,467 cases along with 186 deaths.
