KYIV, Europe Brief News – The number of artillery shells blown up along the contact line between Ukraine and separatist region ‘Donbas’. Thousands of people are being evacuated from eastern Ukraine only raising the concerns of a Russian invasion.
Western Leaders have shown their concern and are pretty convinced that Russia is about to attack its neighbour who currently massed around 150,000 soldiers around three sides of Ukrainian border with warplanes and equipment.
The United States and Western Countries have proposed that Russia is trying to produce a pretext to invade. The US has made it clear that if Russia invades Ukraine, it will have to face several immediate sanctions.
On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelensky suggested Russian Leader Putin to select the place where two leaders can possibly sit over talk through their dispute to resolve the crisis. Russia has refused to have any such plans of invading Ukraine.
Zelensky at the International Conference in Munich said “Ukraine will continue to follow only the diplomatic path for the sake of a peaceful settlement”.
Charles Michel, A top European Union Official said “We cannot forever offer an olive branch while Russia conducts missile tests and continues to amass troops”.
With the fear rising of possible invasion to start within a few days, Germany and Austria asked their citizens to evacuate Ukraine before the war erupts.
US Indicates Possible Invasion
The US president clearly gave indications that according to recent reports from American Intelligence, Putin is more than convinced to attack Ukraine in the coming days.
A US military official suggested that an estimated 40% to 60% of the Russian forces have taken the attack positions closer to the border. It only means that they are just a call away to invade Ukraine.
Communication channels are still open between Moscow and the west so Russia takes a path of diplomacy and ends the crisis. The American and Russian defence ministers spoke on friday.
Emmanuel Macron, French president claims that he has scheduled a phone call with Putin to come up with a proposed solution to an ongoing crisis.
The news broke that Top Ukrainian military officials came under shelloing attack during a tour of the front of the nearly eight year separatists conflict in eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian soldiers have claimed that they have given an order to not return fire and they are exactly doing that by keeping things quiet from their end but things could escalate any time.
