Vatican City – Europe Brief News – Pope Francis Said that Ukraine crisis caused great pain in his heart . He condemned action destabilising coexistence among nations and discrediting International Law.
The United States and its allies are criticising Russia for creating pretext to a war by massing more than 100,000 troops across the Ukrainian border.
They are also accusing Russia for breaking the law as Russia sent troops in the parts of Eastern Ukraine and recognized the Sepatrists region collectively known as Donbass as Independent Republics.
Francis was speaking in a grim tone at the end of his weekly general audience. He also asked politicians to just imagine the harsh consequences that their actions can have on the whole world.
International Fasting and Peace day
Moreover, Francis announced March 2 to be an international day of fasting and prayer for peace. He condemned the “ Diabolic senselessness of violence”.
Francis even asked Madonna that the queen of peace kindly save the world from the madness of war.
Pope Francis shared that he is extremely worried over the Ukraine crisis that has got everyone around the world on their toes. He warned that the potential war could be dangerous for peace worldwide.
The Pope said “ I have great pain in my heart because of the worsening situation in Ukraine”. He is upset that world peace is on stake just for the sake of partisan interest.
He further added “ I appeal to all sides to abstain from any action that could provoke more suffering to the population, destabilising coexistence among nations and discrediting international law”.
The United states , Britain , the European Union, Canada and among other top countries have announced the plans to target banks and elities.
On the other hand, Germany has stopped a crucial gas pipeline project from Russia which is creating havoc all over Europe as the inflation rate increases each day and people are paying high energy bills.
This is only the second time that Francis has called for an International day of prayer for peace in Ukraine. He also made a similar announcement for January 26.
Francis said “ Jesus taught us that we should respond to the diabolic senselessness of violence with the weapons of God, with prayer and fasting”.
