Beijing, Europe Brief News – China has shown its full support for Russian invasion to Ukraine. It has also Criticised Washington for hyping up tensions in Moscow.
China Foreign Minister Wang Yi made a call to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Thursday and described China’s position on Russian Invasion to Ukraine.
He said “Above all China respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all nations but Beijing could see complicated and specific historical questions at play in Ukraine”
Mr Lavrov said that Russia has been forced to take certain steps to protect its own rights after the US and NATO did not hold their end of the deal for not Including the eastward.
Mr. Wang responded “China understands Russia’s legitimate concerns on security issues”.
The news of the call between foreign Ministers of two countries came after Chinese Forign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying called for a restraint from all parties during a news briefing in Beijing.
China Criticises US For Forcing Russian invasion to Ukraine:
She said “ What we are seeing today is not what we wished to see”. Ms. Hua described the ongoing Ukraine situation as a complicated one and blamed the US for shipping arms to Ukraine and hyping up the possibility of war by taking unnecessary actions.
She further added “Those who have set the fire should consider how to put it out with concrete actions, rather than condemning others.
Xi Jinping, President of China, accepted that the Russian president Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine put China in a pretty difficult situation.
In a phone call with Antony Blinken, Mr Wang Announced that China is taking a neutral stand for the security concerns of all involved nations, including Ukraine.
He further added that both countries must follow the Principles and purpose of the UN charter.
Earlier this month, Putin visited Beijing for a summit meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping to discuss the schedule for the beginning of the winter Olympics.
Once the meeting wrapped up, both leaders in a joint statement blamed the US-led world order and expansion of Nato for ex-Soviet nations.
After the summit , Xi Jinping did not have any information about the Ukraine issue as he asked French president Emmanuel Macron to initiate a dialogue forum where all parties can resolve the Ukraine crisis.
Mr Zhang said “ We hope that all parties concerned will stay cool headed and rational”.
