Kyiv, Europe Brief News – The Russian Military continued to hit several Ukranian cities including the capital Kyiv with Artillery and cruise bombing for the 3rd straight day. Some Russian news agencies are claiming that the Russian forces have already seized the southern city of Meltipol.
James Heappey, Britain’s Armed forces Minister said “ All of Russia’s day one objectives and even Meltipol, which the Russians are claiming to have taken but we cannot see anything to substantiate that, are still in Ukrainian hands”.
As per the reports coming in, Almost 198 Ukranians along with 3 childrens have lost their lives due to Russian invasion. The figure for wounded people has reached 1,115.
Kyiv’s Mayor Vital Klitschko said “there was currently no major Russian military presence in Kyiv, although he added that saboteur groups were active”.
He further added that the metro stations are now being used as a shelter for the people and all the trains have currently stopped running.
Capital Kyiv : ‘We will defend our state’
Volodymyr Zlensky, President of Ukraine shared a video message outside of his office in KYIV city saying “We will not put down weapons, we will defend our state”.
Zelensky earlier offered Russia that he is ready to negotiate on one of Putin’s demands of abandoning the idea of NATO membership.
In response to that, the Kremlin said we were also planning to hold talks in Belarus to discuss the issue but the Ukrainian President took so much time to agree on demands and we believe it’s a bit too late. The Ukrainian president must have agreed on terms during earlier talks.
Ukraine has asked its Russian embassy staff to evacuate and move to Latvia. Tons of residents from Ukraine are leaving the country and getting to Poland, Romania and many other western countries to get a safer place.
Vladimir Putin said “I had to eliminate what I believe was a serious threat to my country from its smaller neighbours and I cited the need to denazify Ukraine’s leadership”.
Sanctions
US and Western countries are imposing a number of severe sanctions on Russia including blacklisting its banks and banning technology exports.
The EU’s measures will also target Russian elites and make it difficult for diplomats to travel but the bloc decided not to restrict Russian energy imports.
Some Top leaders suggested Eliminating Russia from SWIFT can be damaging as people will find it difficult to send money to families in Russia.
