Jim Carrey Shared His Opinion On The Will Smith And Chris Rock Incident At The Oscars 2022
The “Dumb & Dumber” star went on to say that he was just as appalled by the audience’s positive reaction to the slap. Jim was sickened by the standing ovation and felt that Hollywood is just spineless as the audience sitting there in the crowd. He feels that it was a really clear indication that they are not a part of the cool club anymore.
Jim Carrey believes that there might be a strong reason why Rock, 57, has not chosen to press charges against Will Smith. He doesn’t want to go through the hassle and maybe avoid it. Smith could have found other ways to convey his disapproval of the jab directed toward his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. He shouldn’t have put his hands on the comedians.
It would have been better if he would have yelled at the audience and disapproved of it. Smith could have even chosen to say something on Twitter. Jim feels that he doesn’t have any right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face just because they said something disgraceful to your loved one.
Will Smith rushed to the stage during Sunday’s awards ceremony to receive his award. He hit Chris Rock in the face because he was offended due to the bald joke about Pinkett Smith, 50. The actor then returned to his seat and shouted at the comedian twice. He told him to keep his mouth shut. The incident was not scripted and will be investigated by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
