Cambridge, Europe Brief News – Researchers have rejuvenated the skin cells of a 53-year-old woman. They are equal to that of a 23-year old which is very astonishing. Many scientists at Cambridge University believe that they can carry on the same process for other parts of the body. However, they are currently aiming at developing new treatments that can work against ageing related problems.
Some common problems that come with old age include diabetes, heart diseases, and other neurological disorders. Scientists are using advanced technologies that will help them cope with these issues efficiently. With the use of this technology, they will create Dolly the cloned sheep. Currently, the head of the team is Prof Wolf Reik. He is from the Babraham Institute of Cambridge.
In a recent conversation with BBC, Prof Wolf claims that this strategy will help people live a healthy life even when they age. He explains that they have all been dreaming of this thing for a long time now. It is only now that their vision has become reality.
“Researchers have rejuvenated a 53-year-old woman’s skin cells so they are the equivalent of a 23-year-old’s.
The scientists in Cambridge believe that they can do the same thing with other tissues in the body.”https://t.co/abG6URaNax

Common Diseases Get Worse With Ageing
It is not surprising that common diseases will take a bad turn as you become older. Pro Wolf will try to help people in the best way he can. He revealed that the strategies behind this plan is being worked on for a few years now. The recent development is an extension of the work that is published in the journal eLife. All the team members had to face various issues inside the lab much before this could come to the clinic.
One of the biggest steps is to achieve cell rejuvenation and move toward the next crucial procedures. Prof Shinya Yamanaka introduced the Dolly technique in 2006. He started working at Kyoto University where things moved on further.
They have now come up with a new method that is called IPS. It doesn’t have any involvement from chemicals inside the adult cells for the first 50 days. Due to some changes in genetics, the adult cells turned into stem cells. Both the IPS and Dolly techniques are related to each other.
The previous stem cells will regrow into new cells and tissues altogether. It will help fight diseases relating to ageing. However, for many years now the technique didn’t give any fruitful results. The long-term aim of this strategy is to bring good results for the people who grow older with time. Some of these applications may turn into new medicines and rejuvenate the skin of older generation.
