Brussels, Europe Brief News –Matty Cash, a right defender for Aston Villa, scored his first goal in international football for Poland’s national team during their encounter in the Nations League against the Netherlands. Cash’s goal was a spectacular shot.
Poland’s Classic Opening Goal
Away from any Dutch threat, Cash took possession of the ball and began a move into the Dutch penalty area. After getting closer, he decided to take a shot, blasting a low, powerful ball into the far corner of the net.
When his teammates finally swamped the England-born Polish international, they all seemed delighted. In 2021, Cash decided to change his nationality after being approached by the Polish setup. He was eligible for the national team through his mother, and he was summoned to the national team after obtaining Polish citizenship.

Villa Plays For Poland
Poland has qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar thanks to his rise to the starting right-back position. Since the death of Villa’s right-grandfather back six years ago, he says he’d be “extremely pleased” to see him play for Poland.
A wonderful event for all family members, particularly on my mother’s side.
No one has ever met my relatives in Poland since I’ve never been there or even spoken to them on the phone, but everyone is so happy that my mother has gone.”

“Even the feedback I’ve received from folks on social media has been incredible. I can’t wait to get started and get to know you better. Polish is a foreign language, but my mother is proficient in it and has been helping me practice.”
Matty Cash’s Statement
Cash also admitted that he might have become a Polish international sooner. “The previous president [of the Polish FA], I suppose, didn’t want to listen to me,” he remarked.
“He didn’t mean it rudely; he was simply not interested in my going to Poland to play for the national team. However, the new president has arrived and has been helpful; he and the manager both wanted to do this swiftly. It helps to have all of that.
A few days before I arrived at the Polish embassy in Warsaw, the manager called and asked if we might meet for a cup of coffee. I agreed.” That’s what we did, and it was a terrific conversation. He went through a lot of stuff regarding tactics, formations, and how we’ll be practicing,” he said.
The Takeaway!
Matty Cash opened the scoring for Poland in their UEFA Nations League match against the Netherlands on Saturday night by firing a low angled drive into the far corner from the outside of the box.
The 2021-22 season saw Cash score only four goals in 40 appearances for Villa, but he’s already a goal machine for the United States national team.
