London, Europe Brief News – Meet the Shetland pony Pumuckel which is thought to be the world’s smallest pony.
The owner of a Shetland pony called Pumuckel measuring a mere 50 centimetres in height hopes the animal will make it into the Guinness Book of World Records as possibly the world’s smallest pony.
He ‘only weighs 35 kg’ owner Carola Weidemann said as she cuddled her friend in a paddock in Breckerfeld, south of Dortmund in western Germany.
Pumuckel the Shetland pony is only 50 centimetres tall and weighs just 35 kilos.
According to the UK’s Shetland Pony Club, a small Shetland pony should weigh around 264lb (120kg).
Pumuckel’s owner Carola hopes he will officially become the world’s smallest pony in the Guinness Book of World Records.
But she will have to wait until he is four years old to find out if he’s the mane event.
