EBN- The world cannot achieve all this development and discrimination between girls and boys continues in societies; therefore, a day has been allocated for the girl who has grown up and is no longer a child.
But, it is exposed to violence and discrimination, and also because of what she is exposed to, she is ignorant of her rights that have been granted to her by international organizations that care for women’s rights first, and children’s rights second; interest in girls has been present since organizations were established that care for the protection of children, whether boys or girls.
Teach daughter why there is an International Day for the Girl Child
Talk to your daughter who has become a young girl about the international celebration declared by the United Nations, where the eleventh of October of each year is dedicated to supporting girls and allocating basic priorities to protect their rights and increase community awareness of the dire consequences of inequality between girls and boys.
Make sure to increase your daughter’s awareness of the need to strive to prove herself and confront the problems that most girls around the world are exposed to, which called for allocating an international day for them, such as: lack of education and health care, deprivation of work and excellence in it, in addition to the bad and unjust exploitation of them through early marriage, pushing them into the labor market, and depriving them of their childhood.
Explain to your dear daughter when this day was designated as the International Day of the Girl. Plan International dedicated a project through which a campaign was launched known as the “Because I am a Girl” campaign, calling on girls to fight gender discrimination. After this campaign, this organization sought to invite the United Nations to designate an International Day for the Girl. The first official meeting was held in October 2012, during which October 11 was designated as the International Day of the Girl. The goal was to address important issues facing girls in developing societies, first and foremost, such as the issue of child marriage, as one in four girls worldwide is married before the age of eighteen.
Talk to your girl about her important role in society.
your daughter about her role, which is no less important than that of a young man in society. The role that women play in general, due to their anatomical makeup, is focused on protecting humanity from extinction and the continuation of the human species. However, this does not mean that we should look at women as a vessel for reproduction only.
Explain to your daughter that she plays important roles in society for men; she is a mother , sister, colleague and wife. When she develops, learns and becomes a working woman, she holds different positions in management. For example, she becomes a teacher, a manager and a health official. In addition to that, she is the mother and housekeeper who keeps the house clean, safe and stable.
Expand her knowledge about ways to protect herself
Expand your teenage daughter’s horizons and talk to her calmly about ways to protect herself so that she is not exploited when she goes out into society, as global studies show terrifying and painful statistics about the exploitation of young girls all over the world and their exposure to physical and psychological violence due to the world’s inferior view of women in general as the weakest link in society.
Explain to your daughter at a young age the importance of preserving her body, and the ways in which she is exposed to exploitation by weak-minded people, and that from a young age she should not allow anyone to touch her body – for example – and not expose her body or enter the bathroom with anyone, as well as setting limits for dealing with others so that she can preserve herself, and not allow anyone to cross the line with her, such as being beaten – for example – and the International Day of the Girl can be an opportunity to enroll the girl in a sports course that aims to strengthen the woman’s body and help her defend herself so that it is appropriate for her from an anatomical point of view and does not cause her any health harm.
