EBN- Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on Friday that Russia’s use of the Oreshnik missile would change the course of the Ukrainian conflict.
Medvedev explained – in a press statement reported by the TASS news agency on Friday – that this will naturally divert the course of the special military operation.
In an unprecedented move, Russia bombed Ukraine with a hypersonic MIRV missile for the first time, as the Kremlin explained that “Russia’s launch of the new medium-range ballistic missile at Ukraine came in response to the reckless decisions of Western countries to supply Kiev with weapons,” according to its statement.
Medvedev’s comments came after similar statements by Vladimir Putin yesterday, in which he said that “the United States and its NATO allies have announced their agreement to use long-range precision weapons. Following this announcement, Russian military sites in the Kursk and Bryansk regions were attacked by American and British missiles.
In response, Russia used its latest medium-range ballistic missile, the Oreshnik, in a non-nuclear strike targeting the Ukrainian Yuzhmash defense plant in the Dnieper,” according to Putin.
Putin warned that “the West’s provocative policies could lead to dire consequences if the conflict continues to escalate.
