Prince Harry talks about his connection to the United States
Prince Harry , 40, was asked by Andrew Ross Sorkin if he wanted to stay in the United States, especially amid concerns for his safety in the United Kingdom. “I do,” Prince Harry said . “I enjoy living here and I want to raise my children here. This is a part of my life that I never thought I would have.”
“Sometimes I think about what my life is like now and I feel like this is the life my mother would have wanted to live, and she would have wanted me to live; to be able to do whatever I want with my children without any restrictions or strict rules, and I certainly wouldn’t have been able to do that in the UK. I’m so grateful for the life I have now and for this great opportunity,” the Duke of Sussex added.
It is noteworthy that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle , have two children; Prince Archie, 5 years old, and Princess Lilibet, 3 years old, and they are raising them in Montecito, California.
In 2023, Prince Harry officially changed his country of residence listed on the card from the United Kingdom to the United States, after moving to California with his wife in 2020 after stepping back from their royal duties.
The Duke of Sussex’s experience with the rumours surrounding Princess Diana
Prince Harry also spoke at the summit about the dangers of misinformation in the media, linking it to the experience of his late mother, Princess Diana , saying: “I’ve seen stories written about me that are not entirely based on reality. There are rumours all around you, just like my mother.”
On the psychological impact of these rumors, he said: “When you grow up in that environment, you find yourself questioning the veracity of all the information, and you always think about what other people think about you, and over time it develops beyond that.
