EBN- Doctors have revealed some common symptoms that appear in some women in their thirties and may be a sign of menopause. During this period, hormones begin to change, but the menstrual cycle has not yet stopped completely.
Although the premenopausal stage usually begins after the mid-forties, some experts confirm that it may begin much earlier for many women.
Doctors have revealed that fatigue, anxiety and brain fog are all symptoms of perimenopause, which can rarely start in a woman’s 30s.
“Perimenopause is a transitional period leading up to menopause, usually lasting several years,” says Dr Harriet Connell, a Westbury-based menopause specialist at Health and Her.
“During this time, the body’s production of oestrogen and progesterone (the hormones that regulate menstruation and pregnancy) becomes irregular, causing a variety of physical and emotional symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, brain fog and FAB symptoms.”
“These symptoms often affect daily functioning more than classic hot flashes or menstrual changes, and can appear years before late menopause,” Connell added. “These symptoms do not eliminate a woman’s chances of becoming a mother, but this dream remains very much possible.
