EBN- Tottenham Hotspur announced good news for its fans on the eve of the anticipated match on Wednesday, between the team and Liverpool in the first leg of the semi-final of the English Professional League Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur said in a statement published on its website today, Tuesday, that it has extended the contract of the team’s star, Heung-Min Son, for an additional season, so that the South Korean player will remain with the team until the summer of 2026.
This came after the club activated the clause in his contract, which is now in effect.
Since joining Bayer Leverkusen nearly a decade ago (2015), Son has made 431 appearances for Tottenham, making him the club’s 11th-most-capped player of all time.
The South Korean international has scored 169 goals for Tottenham in all competitions and is the club’s fourth-highest scorer in history.
The 32-year-old was appointed Tottenham captain in August 2023 and the South Korean international has cemented himself in the history of the English club, scoring a number of outstanding goals in prominent occasions for the club.
