Doha ( Europe Brief News): Agreements signed by US President Donald Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Wednesday will “generate an economic exchange worth at least $1.2 trillion,” the White House said in a fact sheet, summarising some of the deals’ details.
Details of the agreement
The deals include an announced $96 billion deal with Qatar Airways for the purchase of up to 210 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777x aeroplanes with GE Aerospace engines, a fact sheet indicated. They also include an act of intention that can create up to $ 38 billion in construction capabilities at Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base and other air defence and maritime security capabilities.
Earlier on Wednesday, Trump had sat down with Syria’s president in Saudi Arabia and urged him to normalise relations with the long-time foe, as Israel, after an astonishing US move, and this declared that the US lifts all sanctions on the Islamist-led government, according to Tribune.
Just ahead of a sit-down between the United States and Gulf Arab nation states, Trump had shaken hands with Syria’s Ahmed Al Sharaa, who swore allegiance to al-Qaeda and who had come to power atop a group which the Americans labelled a terrorist organisation.
