PlanarTECH (Holding) Limited has extended its marketing and distribution agreement with Thailand-based IDEATI to include 2AM-branded graphene-enhanced antibacterial face masks.
The 2AM antibacterial face mask uses both the antistatic and known antibacterial characteristics of graphene to create a cotton fabric face mask with exceptional properties, it said.
According to a recent report from market research firm QY Research, global mask revenue will grow to US$ 7.24bn in 2020 from US$2.86bn in 2019.
China's production of masks has increased more than 10 times to 120 million per day, but the global supply and demand gap of masks still cannot be alleviated, said the report.
IDEATIs facemask is not designed specifically for COVID-19, said PlanarTECH but its anti-viral properties are being evaluated.
