Man United entered the race against Real Madrid of getting Kylian Mbappe this summer, said an English sports agency on Friday.
Man United have reinforced their squad this summer with brilliant steps, extending the contract of Cavani for a year. They also brought the English international Jadon Sancho as well as the French defender, Raphael Varane.
Still, the Red Devils see it is not enough yet, as they have shortlisted some other players to be joining the team. One of these is the French superstar, Mbappe.
According to ESPN, Mbappe is in the mind of Solskjaer this summer, as a reinforcement for the squad.
However, the chances of Man United seem to be thin. The reason is that rumors and even official talks have been linking the French player with the White House.
Although the Red Devils may officially initiate talks, they would not prepare a huge offer as much as Madrid’s.
When it comes to PSG, the French club has no intention of selling the player. They seek to have the unmatchable front line, with the come of Lionel Messi.
PSG’s manager, Mauricio Pochettino, has announced that the French player will stay at the Park De France. He will stay for the rest of this season, at least. Later, maybe he will set a new contract once he is a free agent.
Nasser Al-Khelaifi declared that Mbapp, after Messi’s arrival, has “no excuse” to leave.
Other targets for Man United
Although Man United reinforced the squad, the club did not spend a big deal of money. Doing that, they may be quite a competitor to Real Madrid when they officially initiate talks with PSG.
Mbappe is not the only target for the Red Devils. Haaland, the Norwegian star, Harry Kane, and Lautaro Martinez are also targets for Man United.
While Madrid is the preferred destination for the French forward, Man United still have time to convince the French player.
After Real Madrid lost the services of Zinedine Zidane, Man United may have the upper hands. Pogba and newcomer Varane may convince Mbappe to come. Still, Read Madrid have Benzema who could convince the player to come to the White House.
