Man city has achieved a big win against Norwich today at the Etihad Stadium in their second Premier League fixture.
The club has made it up after opening the Premier League with a bitter defeat by Tottenham.
Man City’s newcomer, Jack Grealish scored the first goal for the club, as he later joined the club. It is also his first goal ever with the club.
It is worth mentioning that Man City achieved a transfer record when they signed Grealish. They paid £100m for the player to get him from Aston Villa.
This win means a lot to Pep Guardiola and his men, as if it was otherwise, it would have been a disaster. Man City lost against Leicester City in the Community Shield and lost against the Spurs in the opening match.
Such losses left a sour taste in the mouth of the Spanish manager. He prepared the team well for this match as a make-up.
Man City dominated the match throughout the 90 minutes, scoring five goals and destroying Norwich.
Tight grip
Norwich planned to adopt the possession style in the game. However, Man City surprised them by winning the ball as fast as possible.
Norwich’s player Tim Krul gifted the blues the first goal when missed up, scoring their own goal. The pressure Pep’s men exerted made Krul committed such a mistake.
Then, Jack Grealish made his goalscoring debut with the club, as he scored his first goal with the club. The flanks, on the other hand, had to score. In fact, Sterling, who scored the fourth goal, and Mahrez, who scored the fifth, played a brilliant match.
Laporte refused to leave the game without signing his name on the goal sheet, scoring the third goal for the group.
City zipped the ball about with ease throughout the 90 minutes and Grealish and Gabriel Jesus, operating on the flanks, were always sources of danger.
Mahrez and Sterling were a source of danger for Norwich. Gabriel Jesus and newcomer Grealish, on the other hand, made it even harder on Norwich’s players.
The club snatching this win comes fifth in the table. With games yet to be played, the club may go in a later position at the table.
