Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Manchester United after 11 years away from the club, announced Man United on Friday.
Ronaldo and his agent have been in contact with several clubs, as he made it clear he wanted to leave.
However, his name was not—at all—linked with the Red Devils. He only had links with Man City and a possible return to Real Madrid. Then, the Spanish giants denied their interest in having Ronaldo back.
The Portuguese international shocked the whole world with his sudden return to Man United. It was only yesterday when Man United entered the race to sign Ronaldo.
All reports before that indicated that Ronaldo left Juventus training to finalize the deal with Man City. But reports have declared that Sir Alex Ferguson had talked to Ronaldo, which altered things the other way around.
This summer transfer makes the most historical transfer window that ever existed. Messi joined PSG, as the most shocking and heart-wrenching transfer ever. And now Ronaldo returned back to Old Trafford as the happiest moment to almost all football fans.
Ronaldo new contract
According to reports, Ronaldo came with a €15m transfer fee that Juventus will receive for the player. Also, the Old Lady will receive another €8 in add-on for CR7.
CR7 returned to Old Trafford with a two-year contract with the Red Devils. Everyone in Manchester United is excited to meet the player.
All the players along with the manager welcomed the 36-year-old. Ronaldo seems to continue his great numbers back home.
Marcus Rashford, the English forward, showed sensational excitement on the news of Ronaldo’s return. Via his account on Twitter, Rashford states “Wow wow wow, he’s home.”
Bruno Fernandes, who played with CR7 in the international team, welcomed his new teammate. He wrote, “Welcome back home, Cristiano.”
Ronaldo first spell at Old Trafford
Ronaldo played for Man United from 2004 until his last season with the club before going to Real Madrid 2008-2009.
During this time, the 36-year-old put in 292 appearances with the Red Devils and scored 118 goals.
He helped the club to win the Premier League title and the difficult-to-win Champions League in 2008. Also, he won the golden boot, as the best scorer in the Premier League and also in Europe. The player is looking forward to setting new great numbers at Old Trafford.
