Bulgaria’s president, Rumen Radev, said on Saturday that they will hold the third parliamentary election on November 14 this year.
This happens after the Parliament in Bulgaria approved adjustments to the state’s 2021 budget.
Additionally, Bulgaria will hold its first round of the regular presidential election on the same day.
Radev said holding the two elections together would save time and tax money in the EU’s poorest member country.
He is also running for a second term as President of Bulgaria.
“It is obvious that the two campaigns will be taking place at the same time and will merge,” he said.
“I’ll count on the support of all respectable citizens of Bulgaria on serious issues like fighting against poverty and injustice,” he continued.
Radev said that once lawmakers authorize the budget revision, he would dissolve the parliament and appoint a temporary government for the next election.

April and June’s polls failed to assemble a government due to the Coronavirus pandemic and high energy prices.
There Is Such a People (ITN), an anti-establishment party led by Slavi Trifonov, barely won the vote on July 11.
It won with vows to handle Bulgaria’s corruption but failed to get backing from smaller anti-graft parties to form a cabinet.
Two other political parties attempted to assemble a government but also failed.
A recent opinion poll showed that the new election might produce another failed Parliament in Bulgaria.
Evidently, this will complicate the parties’ efforts to look past their differences and form a majority for a successful government.
The political uncertainty is hindering Bulgaria’s ability to utilize the EU’s Coronavirus recovery funds and the adoption of the euro currency in 2024.
