Kyiv, Europe Brief News – US President Joe Biden has accepted a plan proposed by French President Emanuel Macron to hold a Ukraine summit with Russian Leader Vladmir Putin to discuss the on-going crisis.
The White house claimed that for the talks to take place Russia must hold itself from invading its neighbour. Joe Biden will help Russian leaders understand the importance of choosing a diplomatic way to end this crisis.
US officials say that US Intelligence is pretty convinced that Russia is almost ready to take action and can Invade Ukraine in the coming days.
US Company Maxar suggested that new Satellite imagery confirmed the Growth in the deployment of equipment and troops near the Ukrainian border, indicating the invasion to start soon.
The proposal for the Summit was declared by the French President Emanuel Macron after staying on call with Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin for hours.
Mr. Macron’s Office suggests that the further details on the summit will be discussed during the meeting between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on coming Thursday.
The Kremlin said that President Putin blamed the Ukrainian military for the escalation of tension. However, Ukraine has completely rejected this statement by confirming that Moscow is busy in producing pretext before the potential invasion.
Creation Of Normandy Type Group
On the other hand, the French president has confirmed that both the leaders have accepted the initiative to resume talks and he has created a Normandy format group to settle the dispute in Eastern Ukraine. The Group includes Germany, France, Ukraine and Russia.
Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister said “ Mr Putin commitments to Mr Macron were a ‘Welcome sign’ he might engage in finding a diplomatic solution”
Boris Johnson even asked Putin to step back from his current threats and evacuate troops and military equipment from Ukraine’s Border.
Russia has announced to extend their military drill for next 7 days in Belarus. Russia has deployed almost 30,000 troops in Belarus for the testing of their nuclear weapons.
Secretary Bliken said “ Everything we are seeing suggests that this is a serious matter and we are on the brink of an invasion”.
He further added “ Until the tanks are actually rolling, and the planes are flying, we will use every opportunity and every minute we have to see if diplomacy can still dissuade president Putin from carrying this forward”.
