Britain’s PM Boris Johnson said he had arranged a virtual meeting with the G7 leaders on Tuesday.
The meeting is to discuss the Afghanistan crisis, as Johnson urged governments to find solutions for the country’s worsening conditions.
Last weekend, the Taliban took over the Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, in a major change that made civilians flee the country.
Several people who had fled already fear returning to the stringent Islamic law that the Taliban imposed 20 years ago.
Additionally, Western countries are discussing solutions for the situation in the Kabul airport as thousands of civilians gathered to flee.
“The international community must work together to ensure safe evacuations,” Johnson tweeted on Sunday.
“We have to prevent a humanitarian crisis and support the Afghans to secure the last 20 years’ gains,” he added.
Britain is the rotating leader of the G7 group, which includes the United States, Italy, France, Germany, Japan and Canada.
US conditions for Taliban
US President Joe Biden is rebuked at home and abroad for his handling of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Biden will have a virtual meeting with the G7 leaders to coordinate policy and discuss evacuation plans.
The president will also discuss humanitarian assistance, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said on Sunday.
The meeting will develop upon Biden’s decisions this week with Johnson and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
As well as the French President Emmanuel Macron and the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
The US president Joe Biden will provide a comment on Afghanistan at the White House on Sunday.
Washington said on Sunday it will use a commercial airplane to transport the people it evacuated from Afghanistan.
The United States will work with other countries to set “harsh conditions” for any cooperation or recognition of the Taliban.
Moreover, Biden and the Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters on Friday that these conditions are due to the Taliban’s treatment of women and its human rights record.
