New York, Europe Brief News- US singer Britney Spears said she has suffered a miscarriage a month after revealing her pregnancy.
She announced in a joint statement with fiance Sam Asghari today that had “lost our miracle baby”.
It comes months after she escaped a legal arrangement that gave her father control over many aspects of her life, including her reproductive health.
The 40-year-old, who has two teenage sons, previously said she wanted a family with personal trainer Asghari.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” she wrote in a post on Saturday.
She continued: “This is a devastating time for any parent.
“Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however, we were overly excited to share the good news.
“Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family.”
A few weeks ago, the popster announced on Instagram that she and partner Sam Asghari are expecting their first child together.
“I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back,” Spears shared with 40 million followers, referencing the couple’s recent Hawaiian getaway.
“I thought ‘Geez … what happened to my stomach ???’ My husband said ‘No you’re food pregnant silly !!!’ So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby.”
