Canada is actively involved in supporting Armenia’s democratic development by funding projects that enhance the efficiency and administration of Armenia’s National Assembly, supporting civil society, and promoting good governance. This helps create a stable political environment conducive to sustainable development.
In response to crises such as the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Canada provides humanitarian aid addressing urgent needs like water, sanitation, shelter, and health services. This support helps alleviate pressures on host communities and vulnerable populations, fostering social cohesion and stability essential for development.
Canada works with Armenia to expand commercial and economic ties, particularly in sectors like agriculture and agri-food, which are vital for Armenia’s economy. Encouraging inclusive growth helps reduce poverty and creates opportunities for a broader segment of the population.
