EBN- Catalan newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reported that Real Madrid’s management has identified a potential replacement to succeed coach Carlo Ancelotti if the veteran Italian coach is dismissed.
Carlo Ancelotti (65 years old) has been severely criticized by Real Madrid fans and followers due to the crushing defeat suffered by the royal team against its traditional rival Barcelona (2-5) in the Spanish Super Cup final, last Sunday, in Saudi Arabia.
Although the Spanish press talked about renewing confidence in Ancelotti, some reports indicated the possibility of his dismissal from his position.
The “Madrid Xtra” account on the “X” platform stated that Argentine Santiago Solari (48 years old), the former Real Madrid coach, is the most prominent candidate to temporarily succeed Ancelotti if the Italian coach is dismissed during the season.
Solary’s name suddenly surfaced to take over the training of “Los Blancos” despite news about the return of the Frenchman Zinedine Zidane to the “Santiago Bernabeu” fortress, or Xabi Alonso, the technical director of Bayer Leverkusen, the German league title holder who also played for Real Madrid, and his name was linked to the royal team after his remarkable success as the coach of his German team.
Real Madrid’s management contacted Solari for the first time after the loss to AC Milan (1-3) in early November in the Champions League, informing him of the possibility of signing him.
It is noteworthy that Solari took over the training of Real Madrid in the (2018-2019) season after the dismissal of coach Julen Lopetegui, but he was dismissed in March 2019, after being eliminated from the Champions League at the time by the Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam after losing to them (3-5) on aggregate.
Solari led Real Madrid in 32 matches, winning 22, drawing twice and losing
