EBN- Christmas celebrations are about to knock on the doors of the whole world, especially the European royal families. Each family has its rituals for spending this holiday, celebrating it, the way the family gathers, and the guest list. As for the British royal family, the way the King, Queen, Prince and Princess of Wales spend this holiday has been revealed.
Kate Middleton and Prince William join the King and family for Christmas break
At the festive end of a challenging year, and after Kensington Palace announced that Kate Middleton would host her annual Together at Christmas carol service with Prince William and other members of the family, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their three children, are planning to spend Christmas with King Charles and most of the royal family at Sandringham, the Norfolk estate where the royal family traditionally spends Christmas each year.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be joining the family for Christmas
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be joining the royal family for their Christmas gathering at Sandringham this year either, as they were not invited to attend, while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to celebrate in the United States. The last time the couple joined the family for Christmas was in 2018 (the year they married).
It comes after Harry , 40, and Meghan , 43, were also not invited to the monarch’s official birthday celebrations known as Trooping the Colour in June this year, which came a month after Harry and his father were not invited when the Duke of Sussex was in the UK to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. At the time, Harry’s spokesman attributed the missed meeting to the monarch’s “busy schedule”, amid ongoing tensions between Harry and his father and older brother Prince William.
A source also told People magazine earlier this year that when it comes to communicating with his father, Harry’s calls are “going unanswered.”
Last Christmas Party Was Kate Middleton’s Last Appearance Before
Last year , Kate Middleton hosted the Together at Christmas concert – a celebration of the best of what is being done in communities across the UK. The event was Kate Middleton’s last public appearance after Kensington Palace announced in January that the Princess of Wales had undergone abdominal surgery without revealing the details. Kate disappeared from the public eye and conspiracy theories arose about her disappearance, before resurfacing in March to announce she had cancer.
During her chemotherapy treatment, Kate made two public appearances, the first at King Charles’ official birthday, known as Trooping the Colour, in June, and the second to attend the Wimbledon men’s final.
