Doha, Europe Brief News – Qatar, which is represented by the Nation committee to combat human trafficking (NCCHT) has signed a deal with United Nations (UN). The United Nations is represented by the United Nations office on drugs and crime (UNODC). Both have signed up for an important deal and will combat human trafficking efficiently. An international center for training and research will establish in Doha, Qatar very soon. The training centre will be under the supervision of the United Nations.
Minister At Human Trafficking Committee
The minister of Labor, Dr. Ali bin Smaikh al-Marri along with the Chairman of the NCCHT singed from Qatar’s side. While Dr. Ghada Wali who is the executive director of UNODC signed on behalf of the UN. By establishing the International centre for training and Research it is the second time Arabs are taking an initiative. They will continue to work hard and combat human trafficking crimes like they been doing since Doha Forum in 2010.
The centre that will soon establish will be working on preparing a comprehensive database. It will include legislation that revolves around combating human trafficking. All the team members will join to submit and publish international reports with each other. United Nations will contribute to activating the mechanisms and maintaining the high standards in various countries.
Qatar will sponsor the Arab initiative that is all about building a high level of national capacity to combat this crime. The League of Arab States will have full cooperation from the UNODC. Similarly, they plan to support the United Nations Global Action Plan that works against human trafficking.
Since the initiative is taking a serious turn it will involve many legislative measures. Law No 15 of 2011 helps with minimizing the effect of this grave crime. They will pay attention to LAW No 21 of 2015 which revolves around the removal of the sponsorship system.
The first-ever National committee to combat human trafficking was established by Cabinet Resolution No. 15 of 2017. They will aim to publish a comprehensive annual report regarding this matter. It will prevent the crime as the team will be monitoring the reports 24/7.
If this isn’t enough both parties plan to prepare a relevant database that features international legislation. This is the best way to raise some awareness among people too. UN will not shy away from holding conferences and seminars that can educate others. By preparing some pamphlets and training programs, it will be easy to achieve the objectives of the committee in no time.
