BEIJING , Europe Brief News – After one of the Dramatic nights at the Olympics Figure Skating history, Three Russian Teenage skating stars left uncertain about their future participation in the sport.
Kamila Valieva was going through a rough patch after she tested positive for banned heart medicine. Her Career and life turned upside down by a doping case.
She failed to shine during her Women’s finals at the Olympics as she stumbled many times during her performance. She has been phenomenal throughout the entire season but failed to deliver a final Punch on the day when it mattered most.
Kamila Valieva is set to face a potential ban which will hurt her in many ways. Her coach’s response after her disastrous skate performance was even more shocking.
The Camera caught one of her entourage, Eteri Tutbridze criticising her after her poor performance by saying “Why did you let it go? Why did you stop fighting?
Eteri Tutbridze is still under investigation over Vaieva’s failed test. And if anything comes up against us, she may have to face a ban for coaching as well.
Thomas Bach, International Olympic Committee President said that he was immensely upset by the intense pressure on young skaters for putting them under so much pressure amid World’s biggest event.
He Further Said in a news Conference “When I afterwards saw how Valieva was received by her closest entourage, with such, what appeared to be tremendous coldness, it was chilling to see this”
Olympics Qualification Criteria To Change
Some Skating Authorities have been suggesting to increase the minimum age for participation at the Olympics from 15 to 17 or 18.
Valieva Received a message of support from 2018 silver medalist Evgenia Medvedeva saying that I am incredibly happy that this hell is over for you and you can relax now.
Unfortunately for Valieva , she can’t relax just yet. The failed drug test which turned her life upside down still hangs over her head.
Runner up Alexandra Trusova was also enraged after her history making five quadruple jumps proved to be not sufficient enough to beat teammate Anna Scherbakova to the Gold Medal.
Trusova shouted at the side of the rink “ I hate this sport, I would never go onto the ice again”.
Trusova further added that she was happy with the skate but not with the results. She claimed that judges gave Anna an extra artistry point to keep her ahead.
