EBN- 30 years have passed since the premiere of the famous movie Home Alone, which was enough to change some of its heroes from young men in their thirties at the time of filming, to grandparents of grandchildren. They also became fans of this iconic movie, associated with the atmosphere of Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and it seems that generations inherit its love over the years, and this is what actually happened with the American actor Daniel Stern.
Daniel Stern talks about his grandchildren
Daniel Stern , 67, known to audiences around the world as “Marv the Thief,” is now called “Grandpa” at home. Despite Stern’s huge fame in the movie Home Alone, and critics predicting that he had a bright future, his career did not continue at the same pace, and his steps slowed down, and his work decreased one after the other.
In an interview with PEOPLE, Stern revealed the reasons behind his departure from Hollywood , discussing his legacy as one of cinema’s most iconic figures thanks to the 1991 classic, and his grandchildren.
“I have six grandchildren now and I’m expecting another one,” the father of three said. “They know me as a grandpa. Most of them have no idea I’m an actor. Some of them have seen Home Alone and they love it. I think it’s amazing when they see their grandpa get bricked by a kid their age.
Grandpa Stern , who lives on a ranch in California’s Central Valley, explained that he made a decision years ago to step away from the spotlight in order to live a “real” life and be with family, which was a major reason he didn’t get into art from the start.
Nowadays, Stern spends his time running a tangerine farm and cattle ranch, as well as focusing on writing and sculpting.
“I’m an artist, and I always feel like I need to be creative, and I need to be making things with my hands all the time, so writing a script, writing a book, making a sculpture, or even cleaning horse stalls or making tangerine juice , that’s the most fulfilling thing for me,” he said.
“I love telling my story on social media, and it’s so fun when different generations reach out to me and say they love me because of Home Alone.
