The film is a three-hour epic about the complicated lives of several Southern Californians searching for the true meaning of love, happiness and death. Moore plays the young wife of an aging, dying TV producer whom she married only for the money, and she plays the role with great brilliance. Moore won the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress for this character.

The film is written and directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland, and is based on the novel by Lisa Genova, and stars Alec Baldwin , Kristen Stewart , Kate Bosworth, and Hunter Parrish.
Many critics described Moore’s role in this film as the role of her lifetime, and she won the Academy Award for Best Actress for this touching film. Moore played the role of Alice Howland, a linguistics professor, whose life was turned upside down after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Despite her best efforts to delay its symptoms and her desperate attempts to live with it, she was unable to stop the devastating progression of the disease, which struck her when she was only in her forties. She sadly begins to inform everyone around her of the truth about her illness and try to live with it. Moore also won BAFTA, SAG, Critics Choice, and Golden Globe awards for this role.
Game Change -2012
American drama film based on the events of the 2008 United States presidential campaign of John McCain. The film was directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong, based on the book of the same name, which documents the campaign by political journalists Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. The film stars Julianne Moore , Woody Harrelson, and Ed Harris, and focuses on the performance of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (Moore) who becomes Senator John McCain’s (Harris) running mate in the presidential campaign. It revolves around a 2010 interview with the campaign’s chief strategist Steve Schmidt (Harrelson).
The film was critically acclaimed, particularly for Moore’s performance , and won a Directors Guild of America Award, three Golden Globe Awards , a Producers Guild of America Award, and five Primetime Emmy Awards.
