Paris, Europe Brief News – The European Commission must prepare recommendations for additional security and privacy treaty in the next weeks, which it would then discuss with
Russia, according to French President Emmanuel Macron, who called for a “frank dialogue” with Moscow.
Macron did not specify what a “real peace and military system” may involve but said it
must guarantee Europe protects its values and objectives; amid mounting concerns over a
Russian army buildup near Ukraine’s frontiers.
He assured the European Parliament, “We will ensure that Europe’s unique and valuable voice counts.”
Previously, on a journey to Ukraine, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken cautioned that
Russia may launch a fresh strike at “very little notice.”Russia said tensions around Ukraine
were rising, and it was still expecting a written answer from the United States to its broad security requests. People’s hopes were dying as there was no chance left to be secured. As Blinken prepares for a conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Friday,
the negative words emphasized the distance between Washington and Moscow, which a
Russian international policy specialist described as “possibly the end destination before the train wreckage.”
Some European countries believe that; their safety and privacy issues are being overlooked
while Russia engages in direct security negotiations with Washington over the region, with some cooperation with the EU.
“It is essential that Europeans and Americans collaborate,” Macron added, “but Europeans must also have their discussion.” “We need to bring together a common plan, a single strategy, and a new European economic stability framework.”
Before addressing the suggestion with Russia, Europeans would consider sharing it with Nato countries, he said.
Macron, a supporter of the EU possessing its own “strategic autonomy” on defense,
stressed that the group must put itself in a situation where “it can be recognized.”
In a speech to parliamentarians at the beginning of France’s six-month EU leadership;
Macron stated that France, along with Germany, is committed to finding a negotiated
settlement to the Ukraine crisis in discussions with Russia and Ukraine.
However, Macron stated that the EU must examine its ties and relationships with the
Western Balkans and provide genuine chances for membership.
He also stated that the EU must present a new partnership to African nations, which the EU and African countries would consider at; a meeting in February.
