Paris Saint-Germain have hinted that they are going to reject the Spanish offer to Kylian Mbappe, a French sports agency confirmed today.
This transfer has been controversial for over a month now—actually it has been for two years now.
The French superstar is spending the final year of his PSG contract. Plus, Mbappe was clear he wanted to join Real Madrid, and the latter offered a bid of €180m. But the French Giants refused the offer, demanding more money that is around €220m.
PSG have turned the offer down, believing the player is worth this bid. Also, another reason for turning that down is the club tries to keep the player by any means possible.
In yesterday’s game, Mbappe seemed happy and energetic, as he scored two goals, winging against Reims. And their manager subbed Neymar with Messi, in a very strange move.
Nevertheless, this transfer is not yet over, even if it happens next season. The player, to start with, wants to join Real Madrid, and the club is actually preparing for a third bid.
Some reports indicate that the administration of the French club has not shown any willingness to reach an agreement. Apparently, they want the player to stay in, forming a trio with Messi and Neymar.
‘Mbappe has no excuse to leave’
Nasser Al-Khelaifi has hopes that the French forward may change his mind and pen a new contract with the club. After bringing Messi, some think Mbappe should stay to win the Champions League. Some others, however, believe that the player does not want to be a second star in the team—even a third.
Not only Messi but also Ramos and Donnarumma, are additions that make the team apparently unstoppable.
According to private sources of Mbappe, the latter is sure that joining Real Madrid is his ultimate move. It will help the player stand out as one of the best in the field nowadays. PSG are doing their best to make him stay and also renew his contract.
If the transfer does not happen this summer, Mbappe will leave as a free agent next season, which seems bad to PSG. At the same time, PSG are risking that, as playing a year with Messi and probably achieving title may help the player change his mind.
