Thank you for keeping his spirit alive,” he added.
Tito Jackson and his membership in The Jacksons
Tito was an original member of The Jackson 5, which included Michael, Jackie, Jermaine Jackson, Marlon, and later Randy Jackson. The family pop group produced hits such as “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” and “I’ll Be There” throughout the 1970s. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 and was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Tito’s career wasn’t always tied to the family band. In 2003, he began performing and playing blues and funk music around the world, according to his website. He has also toured with the BB King Blues Band on occasion, most notably in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He has also released two studio albums: Tito Time in 2016 and Under Your Spell in 2021. As he enters his 70s, Tito has no intention of retiring.
His last single, “Love One Another,” in 2021, was meant to convey a message of love, unity and peace, and provide a balm for difficult times, as the song was recorded in the wake of the Corona pandemic .
The music video features members of the Jackson family, as well as celebrities such as Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian . Tito’s three sons, Taj, TJ, and Tarell, also appear.
Tito’s death follows the deaths of his ex-wife Dee Dee Martis Jackson (mother of Taj, TJ, and Tarell) in 1994; his father Joe Jackson in 2018; and his brother Michael in 2009.
